Best G9 Led Bulbs Review

1. JandCase – Best Rated Led g9 Bulb

One of the most frustrating things about a LED bulb is the blue or yellow glow. Some people like that, but mostly, we want a pure white light with no coloration. And that’s exactly what you’ll get with JandCase. This pack of five is incredibly energy-saving, by the way, and will save you money for as long as you use it. Add ease, no-hassle type of installation, and you’ll get a decent offer.

Yes, this set will be a quick and simple fit with most fixtures (and that can be a problem with the G9 bulbs sometimes). The only minor downside – these bulbs are heavier than the industry average. Now, that won’t be an issue for most applications, but I wouldn’t recommend using them for the ceiling lights. Other than that, JandCase has an excellent set on its hands.

Pros and Cons

  • No blue/yellow glow – pure white lighting
  • One of the most energy-saving bulbs
  • Easy installation and fitment with many fixtures
  • Heavier than most LED bulbs

Expert Recommendations

Available in three different colors (tones), easy to install/fit, and energy-saving, these G9 bulbs definitely deserve your attention. They don’t have a blue or yellow glow and light up the room nicely. The price isn’t steep, either: you’ll get five high-grade bulbs for a reasonable price.

2. Comzlerb – Longest Lifespan g9 Led Bul

Are you a bit tired of the harsh shadows, glare, and other “perks” of some modern-day LED bulbs? Well, that won’t be an issue with the Comzler bulbs. They were specifically manufactured to avoid color rendition, strobe, and flicker. The warm, bright, and smooth light that they produce won’t make your eyes hurt over time. Another standout feature is the lifespan: these are one of the longest-lasting bulbs available on the market.

With a lifespan of 50K+ hours, they’ll be a very good investment. On top of that, the company backs its product with a lifetime return/replacement guarantee. Summing up, Comzler’s LED bulbs are a safe bet for most folks searching for an all-around set. The input voltage range is rather narrow, though: this pack only works on 120 volts (you might need a plug adapter for this).

Pros and Cons

  • Protect your eyes from strobe, glare, and color rendition
  • Backed by a lifetime return or replacement guarantee
  • Above-average lifespan (50K hours)
  • Only work on 120 volts

Expert Recommendations

The impressive lifespan, generous warranty deal, and excellent protection against all known artifacts turn the Comzler pack of G9 LEDs into a must-have. With a luminous intensity of 550LM and a color temperature of 3K Kelvin, these bulbs won’t disappoint you with their performance.

3. Hansang – Best g9 Led Bulb 60W Equivalent

With this next company, you’ll get a very decent set of bulbs. They’re bright, soft, and calming, and, most importantly, have an above-average CRI rating (85). As you’ll learn from the Buyer’s Guide, the higher the CRI (color rendering index), the better the colors will look. Hansang’s pack also boasts true 360-degree coverage with absolutely no dead angles (which can be pretty annoying at times).

As for the warranty deal, you’ll get a 30-day refund policy, along with a two-year replacement guarantee. There is one downside, however, and it has to do with flickering. Yes, some buyers report experiencing flickering issues every once in a while. This isn’t a critical con, of course, as it happens rarely. Still, keep that in mind if you can’t stand flashing and blinking lights.

Pros and Cons

  • Impressive Color Rendering Index (CRI) rating: 85+
  • No dead angles, thanks to 360-degree coverage
  • Backed by a one-month refund/two-year replacement guarantee
  • Minor flickering issues

Expert Recommendations

The advanced CRI rating, overwhelming 360-degree coverage without any dead angles and the decent warranty turn the Hansang G9 bulbs into a must-have. They do flicker sometimes, though, and for a sensitive person, that can be a big issue. Other than that, this is a very good investment.

4. DiCUNO – Best g9 Led Bulb 40W Equivalent

Now, while the vast majority of G9 bulbs have excellent protection against overheating, some products take this to another level. With the DiCUNO set, you’ll get a top-notch heat dissipation system that adds to longevity and durability. The same can be said about the reliable ceramic base: it’s very sturdy and efficient. More importantly, this is one of the cheapest G9 LED bulb packs on the market.

DiCUNO sacrificed a bit on the brightness and wattage (these are 4W blubs) for that. Furthermore, the lifespan is average (25K hours), and you’ll probably have a hard time trying to fit these bulbs into some fixtures. Mostly, this is true for older lamps and chandeliers. But, in all fairness, these aren’t very big cons for a low-priced set.

Pros and Cons

  • Brick-strong ceramic base for added durability
  • Premium heat dissipation system for longevity
  • A low-budget purchase with good value
  • Might be hard to fit in older fixtures

Expert Recommendations

Affordability is DiCUNO’s biggest selling point. These bulbs have a reliable ceramic base, premium heat dissipation system, and an average brightness (450LM). If you only have new, modern fixtures in your home/office, this set might be exactly what you’re looking for.

5. Kakanuo – Best g9 Led Daylight Bulb

By default, LED lights are vastly superior to halogens in terms of energy efficiency. And with Kakanuo, you’ll get even better energy savings, especially in the long run. Another standout feature is the really warm, relaxing, and calming tone. It doesn’t put any extra strain on the eyes and keeps a nice atmosphere in the room. The somewhat old-school design is a pro as well.

It’s not that different from all the other G9 LED bulbs, but still a bit unique. Unfortunately, the build and material quality are average at best. I’m not saying that these bulbs will give up on you in a month or so, as durability isn’t an issue. Still, the engineering quality and the materials used in production aren’t premium-level.

Pros and Cons

  • Average material/build quality

Expert Recommendations

Highly efficient, warm, and comforting – that’s the best way to describe the Kakanuo G9 LED bulbs. As far as the most calming daylight bulbs go, these are certainly a worthy investment. A retro-ish design is also a part of the deal.

6. LEDGLE – Best g9 Led Bulb 100W Equivalent

With this manufacturer, you’ve got a choice between different wattages (3, 6, 6.1, 8, and 10). So, if you need to lighten up a room, go with ten. Three, in turn, will be more suitable for a small bedroom or something light that. No matter which set you end up with, premium (imported) LED chimps will be a part of the deal. They are equally efficient and soft. The PC Lamp Cover is also of the highest quality.

It boasts above-average transmittance and durability. There is a slight yellowish hue with these G9 bulbs, however, and for some people, that will be a big turn-off. At the same time, if you’re ready to close your eyes on this minor downside, LEDGLE’s pack will be a sure pick, thanks to all the big pros.

Pros and Cons

  • Imported high-grade LED chimps
  • PC Lamp Cover with high transmittance
  • Different bulbs with different wattage available
  • Yellowish hue instead of pure white

Expert Recommendations

Perfectly suitable for a wide range of inside and outside applications, these LED bulbs are a safe bet for many reasons. First of all, they’ve got superb LED chimps and a high-transmittance Lamp Cover. Secondly, there are different wattages at your disposal. Sadly, the bulbs have a yellow hue.

7. MD Lighting – Brightest g9 Led Light Bulb

As far as the softest light sources go, these bulbs are one of the obvious leaders. MD Lighting is known for manufacturing state-of-the-art G9 LED bulbs for that “evening” type of daylight (white 6K). For home lighting, ceiling fans, and other indoor uses, this set will be a no-brainer. You won’t get any IR, UV, or any other type of radiation, by the way, as these are eco-friendly bulbs.

It’s also important to mention how bright these lights are. Compared to the market average, they are, indeed, quite bright and can fill up a big room (like a hall, for example). But do keep in mind that the MD Lighting bulbs are longer than the industry standard. That means minor fitment issues.

Pros and Cons

  • A good choice if you’re looking for soft, even lighting
  • No UV/IR radiation – an eco-friendly set
  • Brighter than most G9 LEDs on the market
  • Longer than similar G9 bulbs

Expert Recommendations

Despite the bigger (or, rather, longer) design, these bulbs deserve your attention. They are really bright and soft at the same time. Plus, they’re radiation-free (no UV, IR, or anything like that). The dimensions are a bit bulky, however.

8. BAOMING – Best Dimmable G9 LED Bulb

Looking for a set of long-lasting and reliable ceiling lights for your room? Well, BAOMING has just the right pack of bulbs for you. They’re not super bright (only 450LM) but should be enough to cover most of your needs. Besides, the company compensates for that with a customer-oriented support service. The agents are very quick to respond and do an excellent job of helping with repairs and replacements.

That’s right: these bulbs are protected by a 30-day return guarantee, along with a two-year warranty. Both soft warm (2.7K) and daylight white (6K) colors are available – pick the one that suits you most. Last, but not least, the BAOMING bulbs are dimmable, which makes them an even more attractive purchase for the fans of setting the right level of lighting.

Pros and Cons

  • Two-year warranty/30-day return guarantee
  • Not as bright as you’d probably expect

Expert Recommendations

While these G9 LED bulbs aren’t super bright, they’re good enough for most applications, especially as ceiling lights. And, thanks to the outstanding customer support and generous warranty deals, they will be a bargain. Definitely one of the best dimmable LEDs on the market.

9. SumVibe – Best Halogen Bulb Replacement Light Bulb

And what do we have here – what does SumVibe have to offer to the average customer? First, I want to mention that as a set of 12 high-quality bulbs, this is one hell of a cost-efficient deal. Next, these bulbs are waterproof and protected against aging. So, you’ll get maximum efficiency no matter where you put them and how bad is the weather.

Add superb heat resistance (the pack comes with a premium SMD), and you’ll see why SumVibe is so popular. My only complaint has to do with the green-ish tone. It’s not that apparent, especially in a bigger, wider room, but this can still be an issue if you’re looking for that 100% pure white light.

  • Advanced heat resistance thanks to top-notch SMD
  • The bulbs have a slight green tone

Expert Recommendations

If not for the slight green touch, I’d call SumVibe the best set of G9 LEDS on the market. It includes 12 bulbs in the package, boasts resistance to heat, aging, and is also waterproof.

Buyer’s Guide

What’s the most important thing to keep in mind when choosing new LED bulbs? Should you go with a dimmable set, or maybe you’ll be better off with a non-dimmable pack? And what about brightness, color, wattage, and compatibility, you might ask? Join me, and let’s talk about all of that in more detail, including the importance of a good warranty deal and the average lifespan of a decent G9 LED bulb

Dimmable vs. Non-Dimmable

This is one of the most popular questions asked online: should I go with dimmable bulbs, or not? Here’s the deal: dimmable lights can be adjusted, or, as some put it, “fine-tuned” to your liking. If you want quiet, warm, candle-like lighting, just dim the bulbs down. You’ll need a rheostat for that, of course, but that’s not hard to come by. It’s very easy to set the desired light output: just turn the switch up or down, depending on what your heart desires.

On the other hand, non-dimmable bulbs don’t have this ability: they can only be switched on (maximum output), and off (no output at all). Non-dimmable G9 LED bulbs are usually cheaper, however, so, ultimately, it’s up to you to decide whether you need the extra amount of control with dimmable bulbs, or not.

CRI and the Light Color

The Color Rendering Index is a way to indicate how accurate a light source – in our case, a G9 LED bulb – is at representing/rendering color. So, what does this information give you, exactly? My advice: look for bulbs with an 80-90 CRI rating, and you won’t be disappointed with their performance as the colors will be really natural.

Next, we’ve got light color. The market offers different colors, including daylight white, soft white, natural daylight, warm white, and more. There are no wrongs or rights here. Only the customer really knows what “color tone” he/she is looking for in a bedroom, kitchen, or any other space.

Wattage and Lumens

The term “lumen” is used to describe the amount of light generated by a bulb. Without getting into technical stuff, let me just say that lumens indicate the bulb’s intensity, visible light, and well, brightness. This measurement goes hand in hand with wattage, by the way. Here’s how it works: a 40-watt bulb will put out 400 lumens, which is a pretty decent source of light. In the specs, they usually write something like 400LM.

Now, when it comes to G9 LED bulbs, the wattage numbers are different. Since they’re a lot more energy-efficient compared to halogen bulbs, you’ll see 4W (watts), and that will equal 40 watts on a traditional bulb. That’s pretty much it for lumens and brightness. All you’ll need to check is the LM parameter to know how bright the lights will be. As for wattage, the higher the number, the stronger the bulbs; energy consumption will also be higher, of course.

Lifespan and Warranty

A decent-quality G9 LED bulb from a respected brand will last for up to 30K hours. That’s the industry average, but there are a lot of bulb sets that last for 25K, 20K, or even fewer hours. Folks looking for the most long-lasting bulbs should pay extra attention to Comzler, as it boasts a premium lifespan (fifty thousand hours, give or take).

Next, we’ve got the warranty to consider. Most market-leading products have at least some kind of a warranty to back them up. A regular one-year guarantee is the starting point. I always try to get a set of bulbs that are protected by a 30-day refund policy and a two-year repair/replacement guarantee. That’s the best deal you can find right now.

Fitment/Compatibility

The first thing you gotta know about G9 LED bulbs is that they’re bigger (mostly longer) than the regular halogen bulbs. Therefore, always check for compatibility with the fixtures you’ve got back at home to avoid any fitment issues. That’s right: not all bulbs will easily fit in a lamp, ceiling fan light, wall sconce, lighting fixture, or any other illuminator.

A quick note: don’t forget about the voltage! Again, refer to the specs to learn about the operational voltage range of the bulb set that you’re about to purchase. The most advanced devices “handle” 100 to 240 volts, while others can only be used if you’ve got a 120-volt source.

FAQ

Are 5 Watts good enough to light up my Room?

Well, it depends on how big or small your room is, and how much light you need for it. As I mentioned in the Buyer’s Guide, 5 watts in a G9 LED bulb equals +/- 50 watts for a halogen bulb. That should give you some basic understanding of what to expect from 5 watts. For example, I like at least 6 or, better yet, 8 watts for my living room so that it’s nice and bright.

Can I Put LED Lights in the Same Fixture with Halogens?

The short answer – yes, you most definitely can. However, the experts don’t recommend that. And it’s not because they’ll conflict with each other. It’s just that halogens and LEDs have different light representations, and the human eye can easily capture those imperfections. The resulting light source won’t be consolidated, so to speak.

Can LED Lights be Used Outside?

Of course, they can, and it would be best if they’re waterproof and protected against moisture/humidity. In fact, G9 LEDs are commonly used for outdoor lighting these days, as they are bright, have a warm, smooth tone, and aren’t hard to mount. On top of that, these bulbs aren’t “afraid” of cold and won’t have trouble turning on and off when it’s freezing outside. Plus, you can leave them on all night and never worry about overheating.

What’s the Difference between Warm White and Daylight?

The difference is in the color tone. Warm White (that’s 3K to 4K Kelvin) has a yellow tone, which is rather warm and soothing. It’s ideal for a bathroom, or, say, a kitchen. Daylight, in turn, has that blue-ish tone that’s more suited for an office, as it maximizes the contrast and gives you a bright, sharp light source.

Are LED lights better than Halogens?

They are better and in more than one way. First of all, LED lights last significantly longer (they have an up to ten times higher lifespan). Secondly, they consume less electricity (80-85% less, on average). In addition, they easily withstand extreme cold and hot temperatures, which can’t be said about halogens. Last, but not least, LEDS are safer, more durable, and will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Conclusion

Lighting plays a crucial role in setting the right tone in any room, be it an office or a bedroom. Today, our focus was on the best G9 LED bulbs. Now, since the market has more than enough to offer, it may be quite challenging to find the perfect pack. Some brands are overly expensive, while other products have a very short lifespan and don’t have enough brightness or the right beam angle.

I took all these factors into consideration when making my list of the finest LED bulbs. They all come at a reasonable price, won’t be a problem to “install” on your own, and have one or two trumps up their sleeves. To learn more about these packs, make sure to check out the Buyer’s Guide and FAQ. And share your thoughts in the comments!
